9th September 2008 - Scotland TranServ Hosts Ministerial Visit

Stewart Stevenson MSP, the Scottish Parliament’s Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change, last month visited Broxden House, Scotland TranServ's headquarters, to meet members of the senior management team and tour the Perth office. This was an excellent opportunity to discuss the Scotland TranServ commission, including future strategy and objectives supporting the long term goals for the Scottish trunk road network. The useful and wide ranging discussion covered the full range of key services which Scotland TranServ provides. The Minister showed particular interest in the team's strategy for meeting the significant challenges facing the North West Unit, and was very keen to listen to innovative ideas. Another key area for discussion was Scotland TranServ's interaction with local communities, particularly in the light of the lifeline services which the North West Unit provides. Mr Stevenson said: "I enjoyed my visit very much, and was grateful for the chance to learn more about how Scotland TranServ works for communities in the north west of the country in sometimes very challenging conditions. I look forward to building a continuing relationship with the organisation in the future." Norrie Westbrook, Contract Director, added, "I’d like to thank the Minister for taking such an interest in what we are achieving in the North West Unit. We very much welcomed the opportunity to discuss our current service delivery, and our future strategy for supporting the Scottish Government."
